Now an elder, I’ve been a father for more than 30 years . Four children, three grandchildren, and a life that’s been full of both joy and challenge. I’ve known the pride of watching my children take their first steps, the chaos of sleepless nights, and the heartbreak of getting things wrong. I’ve also known the loneliness that can come when fathers feel like they have to hold it all together, often in silence.
Looking back, there are times I wish I’d had someone to turn to, someone who understood the weight, the questions, the journey, and the quiet fears and unknowns that come with being a new father.
And that’s why I created 1001 Fathers.
About 1001 Fathers
The first 1,001 days, from conception to a child’s second birthday are life-shaping, not just for the child but for the whole family. Too often, fathers are left on the side-lines during this time. But I believe that when fathers are supported, confident, and connected, the whole family thrives. That’s what 1001 Fathers is all about.
We’re building a community where dads don’t have to figure it out alone. Through fire circles, woodland recharges, sea immersions, mentoring, fitness, open conversations and more...., we’re creating spaces for fathers to connect, grow, and share.
Because when fathers step fully into their role, with knowledge, courage, with love, with presence, everything changes. Children feel safer, partners feel supported, families feel stronger. And it doesn’t stop there. The impact ripples forward, shaping not only the next generation, but generations still to come.
1001 Fathers is more than an idea — it’s a movement of men standing together for their children, their families, and their future.
